Oh hai there all you loyal Mistys!!

Please forgive our lack of blogging.
We had to drop off the face of the planet for a few months… but we’re back!!
(Had a serious case of burnout… and what not!)

The Spirit of the Black Dress event in Melbourne went SPLENDIDLY!
It was a brilliant evening and we are so lucky to have been a part of it…
Think the highlight was probably the fact that Misty Belvidere’s biggest fans, AKA: Mum and Dad were there…!

We highly recommend that you go and watch the amazing Fashion Documentary; ELEMENTAL: with a great team of people who put it together!  It gives us chills

Elemental

Did some retail therapy (thanks to sponsors Rathdowne Remnants – if you’ve seen Project Runway Australia!) got some AMAZE animal print cotton sateen, gold silk lame AND black fabric to make my own damned black dress…! and bought some new shoes.

New shoes might not sound so interesting to you.  But your designer is a lady of extreme curves – and it also applies to her feet (yes, I fit in a 12-13 now… I blame backpacking through Europe in thongs the whole bloody time!!)  BUT NEW SHOES!

Went to an amazing runway parade with my BFF Anastasia, she flew in that morning, we indulged in French Pastries, got frocked up and then rocked up @ the Dita Von Teese Von Follies Parade!  Utterly amazing… x

Met some absolutely amazing people!  I won’t even list them because I’ll be here all night, and the other 10 designers from TSOTBD were all amazing, inspirational women and I can’t wait to see more from them all!!

AND for our biggest news?
Making the move.
Yours truly, your designer, the brains behind Misty Belvidere is pulling up roots and relocating to el-Melbourne-o!  Ever since I was in year 6 or 7 (I dreamt of being an Architect…) and I always wanted to go to RMIT.  I have no idea what changed, but I ended up going to Adelaide Uni and did graduate with a degree, but the dream of Melbourne never went away.  Never give up!

We can’t wait for whats going to come in our future, the people we are going to meet and more importantly… the ladies we are going to dress!!

We meant it when we said we dropped off the face of the planet!

Our beautiful Aurum Dress was involved in an “international” photoshoot with Blog The Urban Silhouette a few weeks ago too!  We were a part of the “Russian” themed look, model Sophie is absolutely breathtaking and we are in LOVE with the makeup… dress… accessories… the whole damned thing!  And being Russian themed?  What a great excuse to have a cheeky vodka or three!

Many thanks to photographer Phebe (um, please check out her blog!) and Lauren and her amazing team that put the whole shoot together!  The other looks are so different and inspiring too!!

Good Morning my little Mistys!

Although the last couple of weeks have been very trying;
We have some great news to share!

We’ve been named as a Finalist in the SPIRIT OF THE BLACK DRESS competition!  Very excited to be a part of such an amazing opportunity!
I was the only one for South Australia — so I need to show them how awesome we are over here!

I also need to get well-known so people know how to spell my last name!
(Three times yesterday… THREE TIMES!)

We’re going to L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Week, baby!
(ALSO, just to top off that awesome news, I got tickets to the Dita Von Teese VON BONDIES Parade later in the week!  OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!)

Not only that, we’ve also entered into the Old Scholar “Emerging Designer” competition — so you should head on over to their Facebook, find our Folder (named “Miss Kate” not MISTY BELVIDERE)
Might not be winning, but I think we’re putting up a good fight!

Hello Mistys!

Now it may have been a little quiet around these parts of late, but we just wanted to share that we are working on, potentially, just maybe, some avarian accessories for some of our favourite ladies (that would be YOU!)
